Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has called on researchers and industry players to unite in advancing the nation through the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI), held from August 7 to 9.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo made the appeal during his keynote address at the convention, which took place at Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), on Thursday.

“This convention is being held as a direct initiative from President Prabowo to bring together the strengths of researchers, academics, and industry players, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM),” Wijaya said in a statement released by the Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta.

According to him, the President emphasized the importance of building a coordinated and mutually reinforcing national innovation ecosystem.

This year’s KSTI also showcases leading national technological innovations, highlighting achievements and breakthroughs in eight priority sectors: energy, defense, digitalization (including artificial intelligence and semiconductors), downstream industry, health, food, maritime affairs, and advanced materials and manufacturing.

President Prabowo expressed hope that the forum would generate tangible breakthroughs to drive national progress in science and technology.

Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet attended the forum, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture; Minister of Investment and Downstream Development Rosan P. Roeslani; Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin; Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin; Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy; Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani; and Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

Also present were Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid; Minister of Manpower Yassierli; Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi; Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya; Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti; Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana; Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Laksana Tri Handoko; Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo; and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie.
