In a statement issued on Saturday, Hafid said one example of this collaboration is the joint effort to expand internet connectivity in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
The TNI helps identify strategic locations that require connectivity and secure the infrastructure, enabling the ministry to deliver optimal internet access, she explained.
"Kemkomdigi is working to build connectivity in Papua in collaboration with our partners in the TNI, particularly those stationed in the region," Hafid said.
She praised the partnership and expressed hope that similar efforts would continue, especially in regions facing security challenges, so that all areas of the country can benefit from national digitalization.
Hafid stressed that the initiative is an important part of realizing the Indonesia Digital Vision 2045, which aims to ensure equitable digital access across the archipelago.
Beyond connectivity, she emphasized the need for the ministry and the TNI to work together in strengthening national defense in the digital domain, citing evolving global geopolitical dynamics where conflicts increasingly involve cyber warfare.
"Digital warfare has become a component of today's geopolitical conflicts, underscoring the need for strong digital defense," she said.
Hafid noted that digital defense challenges are becoming more complex as rapid technological innovation can create vulnerabilities if not managed properly.
She pointed to emerging technologies such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity provided by foreign companies and the massive flow of cross-border data as potential risks to national security.
"That is why digitalization must be safeguarded not only by IT experts but also by those with strategic defense expertise," she said.
She also underscored the importance of engaging the public in this synergy, particularly in tackling the spread of disinformation.
Hoaxes and fake news, she warned, could undermine national security, making close coordination essential to maintain public stability.
