"Because halal is a standard that reflects product quality. Halal means healthy, halal means hygienic, halal means clean, so halal products are quality," Haikal noted in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
"Because halal is a standard that reflects product quality. Halal means healthy, halal means hygienic, halal means clean, so halal products are good quality," Hasan noted in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Furthermore, he stated that halal certification also adds economic value for businesses in producing and marketing their products.
"In fact, halal has become a universal standard used worldwide, by any industry, regardless of ethnicity, religion, nationality, and so on," Hasan remarked.
"Currently, many non-Muslim countries are competing to develop the halal industry, and they have succeeded in becoming global exporters of halal products — their goods are trusted and consumed by people worldwide," he added.
Furthermore, Hasan emphasized that in this era of free trade, industries without halal certification will, in fact, face losses.
He believes this goes against the global halal trend, which holds enormous and growing market potential.
"Therefore, I always urge everyone to adhere to halal standards. Our halal ecosystem has enormous potential. With halal standards, our products will be increasingly competitive in both domestic and international markets," Hasan stated.
"A well-organized and productive halal ecosystem will certainly be a key sector in supporting national economic growth," he stated.
BPJPH also has halal certification initiatives, including the One Million Free Halal Certification (SEHATI) program this year, which has been implemented and benefited participants.
Micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs), such as Muhammad Yoso from Batam, said that halal certification enabled his processed chips to successfully penetrate modern markets and overseas.
"Thank you to the government, because we have been facilitated to process halal certification for free. Thankfully, our products are trusted by supermarkets and can even enter Singapore because they have halal certification," Yoso stated.
