"Today, I personally inspected the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals program at SDN Ciracas 03, East Jakarta," said the deputy minister during the inspection, here on Friday.
She said the program is one of President Prabowo Subianto's national priority programs which aims to improve the nutritional quality of Indonesian children, reduce stunting rates, as well as support student growth and development and their concentration in learning.
The deputy minister reviewed the menu provided, its nutritional adequacy, and also held a dialogue with the students.
During the occasion, she asked the students about the taste and variety of the food menu provided daily during the MBG program. The deputy minister assessed the Free Nutritious Meals menu at SDN Ciracas 03 as good.
"There is cah meat, stir-fried cah meat, then there are chayote with carrots. There are bananas, rice, and also fried tempeh and milk," she said.
She assessed the quality of the meals served as quite good, including its nutritional adequacy. Through discussions with the students, the deputy minister stated that they enjoyed the menu items.
"Their favorite menu is spaghetti, fried chicken, while their favorite vegetables are spinach, kale, vegetable soup, and others," she said.
The deputy minister hopes that the implementation of MBG will have a direct impact on improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources in the future.
As the deputy minister specifically responsible for migrant worker protection, Christina also views the MBG program as part of the government's efforts to protect migrant worker families in Indonesia.
"Through this program, the children of migrant workers can grow up healthy, concentrate better on their studies, and be prepared to become superior human resources," she said.
She said support and oversight from the media and the public were crucial to oversee the implementation of the MBG program.
"Monitoring and input are constantly needed for evaluation and improvement, so that the President's hopes and aspirations for Indonesian children can be achieved," said the deputy minister.
