The formation symbolized the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, which falls on today, August 17, 2025. The team assigned to raise the flag carried the name “Indonesia Berdaulat” (Sovereign Indonesia).
As seen in a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, the "80" formation was made as the troops took their positions in front of the flagpole, just before the Red and White flag was raised.
Aerial footage showed the Paskibraka lined up tightly, forming the number eight on the left side and zero on the right.
Prior to the flag-raising ceremony, the Paskibraka received the Heritage Flag from President Prabowo who briefly kissed the flag before handing it over.

The tray and flag bearer, Bianca Alessia Christabella Lantang, representing North Sulawesi Province from Lentera Harapan High School in Tomohon, received the flag from President Prabowo.
The flag-raising ceremony proceeded solemnly and smoothly, accompanied by the national anthem, Indonesia Raya.
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, along with former presidents including the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 7th President Joko Widodo, as well as former Vice Presidents attended the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace.
Most ministers and deputy ministers also wore traditional clothing from various regions.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the chiefs of staff of the Army, Navy, and Air Force appeared in their respective service uniforms.
