He noted that, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to realize Indonesia Incorporated, the ministry is committed to building an inclusive, secure, and efficient digital ecosystem.
According to Ismail, the government's efforts so far include the construction of 4G base stations in remote regions, the provision of public internet services, and the strengthening of the Palapa Ring broadband network.
The ministry has also rolled out the Digital Talent Scholarship program to boost human resources and launched the AI Talent Factory to develop artificial intelligence experts — from beginners to specialists — while preparing Indonesia to become an AI innovator.
Digital protection efforts are being expanded through the blocking of more than 1.2 million pieces of negative content and the drafting of regulations under the Personal Data Protection Law.
Child protection is also being advanced with new rules mandating age verification, content monitoring, and reporting systems on digital platforms.
"On our 80th anniversary of independence, we are reminded that true freedom is freedom from poverty, hunger, and suffering," Ismail said, adding that the ministry aims to guarantee equal digital access for all citizens and promote the use of technology that benefits society.
