Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Home Affairs Ministry has reaffirmed its support for President Prabowo Subianto's plan to build 2,200 homes in Papua Pegunungan (Highland Papua) Province, a key part of the administration's development agenda.

Deputy Home Minister Ribka Haluk said the ministry is actively monitoring and assisting the program through its regional autonomy directorate.

"Our director for regional planning and special autonomy has been tasked by the minister to oversee all development processes in the region," she said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Haluk led a coordination meeting on August 20 at the Ministry of Housing and Settlements, focused on preparing for the project's implementation.

The meeting's outcome will be reported to Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait, and eventually to President Prabowo.

She emphasized the need to strengthen technical readiness, including clear documentation of progress made by the Home Ministry and Ministry of Housing and Settlements' teams.

Haluk added that one important aspect to consider is recording the various stages undertaken by the teams.

"The stages we've completed are all being recorded. That will provide a snapshot of the process after the Minister receives direction from the President, and what work will be done immediately," she emphasized.

In the forum, Haluk explained the preparations the Home Affairs Ministry is continuing to work on, both regulatory and administrative.

Additionally, other aspects, such as the roadmap, housing types, and the required costs, are also being refined.

"Our colleagues (at the Ministry of Housing and Settlements) will handle the technical details here. The Home Affairs Ministry, are simply providing support. And whatever we can help, we will help. So, we are coordinating," she said.
