Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman stated that the soon-to-be-launched SAPA UMKM digital platform will integrate access and business support services, including government priority programs.

"The presence of SAPA UMKM will actually be a companion for the growth and development of micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs. It will include artificial intelligence (AI) technology and machine learning, and we will strive to integrate it with all relevant institutions," he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

Integration will be carried out with provincial and district governments, the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), or banks within the Association of State-Owned Banks Himbara.

Abdurrahman said that the platform was developed to map and provide better services to the 57 million MSMEs in Indonesia.

He is targeting the launch of SAPA UMKM within the next two months.

"Of course, we will launch the first version of SAPA UMKM. There will be further updates and upgrades of the platform digital according to needs and developments," he said.

According to him, the platform would also help the government to identify and resolve various problems faced by MSMEs, including product licensing and certification.

In practice, the platform would automatically direct MSMEs to apply for a Business Identification Number (NIB) through the relevant agency. The same would apply to halal certification and distribution permits from the BPOM.

"The system will map, verify, and encourage, for example, micro-enterprises to obtain halal certification from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJH), as the system will be integrated with that agency," he stated.

Furthermore, he said that SAPA UMKM is aimed at providing entrepreneurs with opportunities to participate in several strategic government programs, such as the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMPs) and Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).

"For example, we might also integrate it with the Red and White Village Cooperatives. For the Free Nutritious Meals program, we will integrate the system with the ones in the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). So, all of these efforts are aimed at providing convenient services," he explained.
