Based on a statement from the embassy, on Saturday, the ambassador, who was wearing traditional Teluk Belanga clothing and accompanied by his wife, was picked up by officials from Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the ambassador's residence to the Aiwan-e-Sadr Presidential Palace.
Upon arrival at the palace, the ambassador was greeted by the Head of State Protocol who then escorted him in a carriage to the courtyard of the Aiwan-e-Sadr to receive military honors.
With the submission of the Letter of Credence, Ambassador Sukotjo has officially assumed the status of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
In his meeting with the President of Pakistan, Ambassador Sukotjo conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Indonesia and expressed his readiness to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, which have been going well so far.
On that occasion, the Pakistani President expressed his desire to visit Indonesia. "I'd really like to meet my friends in Indonesia," said the President, who is also the husband of the late former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
In his status as Ambassador-designate since his arrival in July until the submission of his Letter of Credence, Ambassador Sukotjo has carried out a number of activities.
One of which is strengthening defense cooperation as reflected in the visit of Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin to Pakistan in mid-July 2025.
In addition, he has also participated in various activities, ranging from meetings with the Indonesian community, the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) strategic body, to activities to strengthen economic relations between the two countries with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
His hope of strengthening economic relations between the two countries has also received support from leading Pakistani businessmen.
The day before the ambassador presented his Letter of Credence, a corporate think tank CEO Club had invited the ambassador to a working dinner which was also attended by Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarrar.
"Indonesia is the largest economy in ASEAN. It certainly has enormous potential. Pakistan's increasingly positive economic indicators have made the country more ready to open economic cooperation with friendly countries, including Indonesia," Tarrar told Ambassador Sukotjo, several other ambassadors, and dozens of Pakistani businessmen.
"Pakistan needs to strengthen its 'Look East' vision by looking more forward to Indonesia," said Ijaz Nisar, President and founder of CEO Club Pakistan, who last year visited Indonesia with dozens of Pakistani entrepreneurs for the 2024 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in BSD, Banten, and the CEO Summit in Bali.
