Deputy Minister of National Development Planning and Deputy Head of Bappenas, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, stated that the project aligns with the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), particularly in providing inclusive and resilient social protection against climate change.
"The launch of CRISP aligns with the direction of the RPJMN, which emphasizes the importance of integrating social protection with climate resilience strategies. The RPJMN serves as a roadmap to ensure that development not only pursues growth but is also equitable and sustainable," he said in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated that the CRISP initiative comes amidst the real challenges of climate change, including sea level rise, massive flooding, and extreme droughts, which most impact the poor and vulnerable groups.
He expressed the hope that CRISP's alignment with the 2025-2029 RPJMN will be a key instrument in ensuring resilient, inclusive, and equity-oriented development across generations.
"Programs aligned with the RPJMN are designed not only to provide assistance, but also to build community self-reliance and resilience in the face of disasters and economic transitions. CRISP will strengthen this ecosystem to be more adaptive, data-driven, and inclusive," he said.
UN Resident Coordinator in Indonesia, Gita Sabharwal, emphasized that the United Nations (UN) in Indonesia supports the country in the full spectrum of social protection through cutting-edge expertise and analysis.
"Through partnerships with Bappenas and ESCAP, CRISP is present to provide a strategic contribution that brings significant added value," she said.
Meanwhile, UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCAP Executive Secretary Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana stated that the launch of CRISP marks an important milestone in the Indonesia-UN ESCAP collaboration in advancing the sustainable development agenda.
"The policy choices we make today will determine whether our region's growth and development can withstand future climate crises. Expanding and adapting social protection is one of the most strategic investments we can make," she said.
