Kota Depok (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) has formed a Cyber Incident Response Team to strengthen national cyber resilience following the ITSEC Cybersecurity Summit held on August 26–28, 2025.

The cyber agency's Deputy for Cybersecurity and Economic Encryption Slamet Aji Pamungkas said Thursday the initiative underscores the need for shared responsibility across government, industry, and the public to protect critical infrastructure.

“We must not wait for incidents to act,” Pamungkas said, urging that cybersecurity be integrated into system and software design from the outset.

He called on industries, including the Information Technology Security Evaluation Criteria (ITSEC), to collaborate with the government to prevent cyber threats nationwide.

The new response team, he said, reflects a joint effort to build stronger cyber defenses across sectors.

It also highlights the private sector’s role in supporting national resilience and ITSEC’s active commitment to digital security.

The summit brought together stakeholders from ministries, industries, academia, and tech firms from Indonesia and abroad.

Sessions addressed key issues including infrastructure protection, cyber workforce development, and threat mitigation strategies.

Pamungkas said the summit was a major step toward enhancing Indonesia’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

He also formally presented ITSEC with a certificate recognizing its Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), created in partnership with BSSN.
