Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) is developing a roadmap to provide targeted care for neglected and vulnerable children, an official said on Thursday.

Budi Setiyono, Secretary of the Minister of Population and Family Development, said the roadmap is part of the “family academy” initiative, which draws lessons from various family-related issues.

He said the initiative will deliver direct, structured care for neglected children.

“These include children born from non-marital relationships, those abandoned or placed in orphanages,” he said.

Children impacted by domestic violence, parental divorce, or living on the streets will also be covered.

“We're designing a roadmap to ensure these children receive proper support and care,” Budi said.

He added that child care will be integrated into a dedicated program within the family academy framework.

“With this effort, we aim to uphold children’s rights and help develop them into quality human resources,” he noted.

Budi said nurturing high-quality human capital is vital to achieving the government’s vision of a "Golden Indonesia" by 2045.
