The announcement was made at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday in response to public demands following demonstrations in several regions.
“Some policies of the House have been agreed to be revoked, including lawmakers’ allowances and the moratorium on overseas trips,” Prabowo said.
He added that the House would soon open direct dialogue with the public.
“I will also ask the House leadership to invite community leaders, student representatives and groups wishing to express their aspirations, so they can be heard and engage in dialogue,” he said.
The president emphasized that other proposals raised by the public would also be followed up through delegations received directly by the House.
Prabowo was accompanied by eight party leaders, including People’s Consultative Assembly Speaker Ahmad Muzani, House Speaker Puan Maharani and Regional Representative Council Speaker Sultan Najamudin.
Also in attendance were fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri and several senior party figures, such as Democratic Party Deputy Chair Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, PKS Secretary General Muhammad Khalid, Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, and NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh.
