Kabupaten Bogor (ANTARA) - Minister of Housing and Settlement Area Maruarar Sirait on Monday handed over a subsidized house to the family of Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who died during the recent unrest.

The house is located in Pesona Kahuripan 11, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java. The handover followed instructions from President Prabowo, who had previously met Affan’s family at the Presidential Palace.

The property consists of a 60-square-meter plot with a 30-square-meter house, featuring two bedrooms, a family room, and a kitchen.

Minister Maruarar explained that his ministry had prepared alternative housing options in Tangerang and Serang. However, Affan’s family immediately felt comfortable with the house in Cileungsi, leading to its selection as their new home.

"I prepared several options, but the parents and family felt this one was right for them, so we gave it immediately," Maruarar said.

He emphasized that the house was provided through the government’s subsidized housing program, with support from the partner bank, notary, and developer. All administrative processes have been completed, and the family can now occupy the house.

Maruarar also underscored the importance of law enforcement in Affan’s case, urging that it be resolved fairly, quickly, and transparently in line with the President’s directives.

"This country is governed by law, and the process must be transparent and fair. That is also what I conveyed to the deceased’s mother," he said.

The handover ceremony was also attended by Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Muhammad Qodari and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.
