Batam, Riau Islands (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said the recent Cabinet reshuffle was a carefully considered decision by President Prabowo Subianto, including in terms of the performance of each minister.

Responding to media questions about the dismissal of several ministers and the appointment of new ones on Monday, Gibran stressed that the move was based on thorough calculations.

"Regarding the reshuffle, these are decisions that have been thoroughly calculated by the President from all angles, including performance and other factors," he remarked after attending a lobster farming harvest at the Marine Aquaculture Center in Batam, Riau Islands, on Wednesday.

He explained that the reshuffle aimed to ensure that public services could function more effectively.

"This was done to ensure that public service can work more optimally," he said.

Gibran also expressed hope that the newly appointed ministers and deputy ministers would deliver their best performance.

On Monday, President Prabowo dismissed four ministers, including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who was replaced by Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
