“We have decided on four months of food aid based on President Prabowo Subianto’s direction,” Hasan said at a coordination meeting in Jakarta.
The program will provide rice to 18.2 million beneficiary families, with each receiving 10 kilograms per month.
Distribution will take place in two phases: September–October and November–December, with 20 kilograms delivered each period.
National Food Agency head Arief Prasetyo Adi said the budget for the program, including operational costs, was set at Rp13.9 trillion.

He said recipient data was drawn from the National Social and Economic Single Data Center, with some updates.
“There have been corrections related to deaths and other causes. Adjustments will continue,” Adi said.
Earlier, the government announced plans for an economic stimulus package covering programs from paid internships for recent graduates to expanded tax incentives running through 2025.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the budget allocation for the package is still being finalized with the finance minister.
The package includes eight main programs and four additional measures to be rolled out by year’s end.
Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said national rice production in 2025 is projected to post a surplus of 3.5 million tons, ensuring sufficient domestic supply without imports.
