Speaking in Jakarta on Friday, Brig. Gen. Wibowo, Director of Vehicle Registration and Identification (Regident) at Korlantas and chair of the organizing committee, said the 70th anniversary marks a key moment for reflection and improvement in maintaining road security, safety, order, and traffic flow.
“This year’s celebration will not be marked by grandeur, but by concrete actions aimed at providing humane public services,” Wibowo stated.
He emphasized that the commemoration is not merely ceremonial, but a call for all stakeholders to prioritize road-user safety and deliver fair, people-centered public services.
“The 70th Bhayangkara Traffic Day is more than a celebration—it’s a reminder for us all to care about the safety of road users and to offer just and humane public services,” he said.
Wibowo added that Korlantas aims to strengthen ties with the public, recognizing that traffic police are often the most visible representatives of the national police (Polri).
“Every officer on the road is expected to act as a protector, guide, and professional public servant,” he noted.
“Our focus is to ensure that traffic police are increasingly connected to the public through Precision-based services. Road safety will be the central theme driving all our initiatives,” he added, referring to the national police’s “Presisi” (Precision) program.
Looking ahead, Korlantas is also engaging Generation Z—now the majority of urban road users—urging them to become champions of traffic safety both on the streets and on social media.
“With the energy, creativity, and social awareness of Gen Z, we can foster a culture of traffic discipline,” Wibowo said.
