Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian triathlete Martina Ayu Pratiwi clinched a bronze medal in the elite women’s race at the 2025 Asia Triathlon Cup in Gamagori, Japan, held on September 20–21.

Pratiwi finished third among 58 international athletes, completing the race in 1 hour and 22 seconds. Her breakdown included 10:46 in swimming, 31:14 in cycling, and 17:24 in running.

Indonesia’s national triathlon coach, Muchammad Fadly Arif, praised her performance, saying it reflects the results of intense national training.

“This event served as a benchmark ahead of the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand,” Arif was quoted as saying here Sunday.

He added that the podium finish not only boosts Pratiwi’s motivation but also highlights Indonesia’s growing presence in international triathlon competitions.

Marciano Norman, Chair of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), also applauded Pratiwi’s effort and urged her to keep improving.

“Martina brought pride to the country. With continued training and evaluation, she can aim even higher,” Norman said.

He noted that Pratiwi had already made her mark earlier this year by winning gold at the Asia Triathlon Cup in Chennai, India, in February 2025.

Norman also expressed appreciation to the coaching team and the Indonesian Triathlon Federation (PP FTI), led by Armand van Kempen, for their support.
