In a statement, here on Sunday evening, the Ministry stated that Malaysia firmly rejects any malicious attempts to misinterpret Malaysia's long-standing political support and humanitarian efforts for the Palestinian people.
"Since independence, Malaysia's foreign policy has been based on peace, justice, respect for the Charter of the United Nations and international law, and peaceful coexistence among nations," the statement read.
Malaysia is guided by these principles, and has consistently opposed colonialism, foreign occupation, gross violations of international law, apartheid, and other injustices.
The ministry emphasized that Malaysia's unwavering support for peace, freedom and independence of Palestine, alongside its strong opposition to the Israeli occupation and genocide, is deeply rooted in these universally recognized principles.
Malaysia stated that it will continue to cooperate with the international community in realizing peace, justice and humanitarian assistance for Palestine, with the ultimate goal of establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Malaysia also stressed that accountability is crucial for lasting peace, and that Israel must be held accountable for its ongoing crimes and violations of international law.
