“This cooperation marks a concrete step to strengthen synergy between industrial development and transmigration,” he stated during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Friday.
The agreement was signed by the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Transmigration, and the Ministry of Industry.
The collaboration covers industrial development in transmigration areas, local community empowerment, resource utilization, and human capital development.
“It aims to transform transmigration zones into industrial-based regions,” Agus added.
He emphasized that the MoU aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita framework, particularly its fifth goal: advancing downstream processing of natural resources to generate domestic added value and boost national competitiveness and self-reliance.
Agus also highlighted the sixth goal of Asta Cita—developing Indonesia from the villages upward to promote inclusive growth, equitable development, and poverty reduction.
The cooperation supports six Asta Cita targets, including job creation, human resource enhancement, downstream acceleration, and the realization of a people-based, equitable economy.
“This synergy goes beyond sectoral coordination. It’s a strategic step toward achieving Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045 through industrial integration and sustainable regional development in transmigration areas,” he affirmed.
The MoU also supports the revitalization of 154 transmigration zones nationwide. The signing ceremony was attended by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
