"We can identify that these incidents are mostly because they don't strictly follow the SOPs," said the Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He cited examples of SPPG's non-compliance with BGN's SOP, including those related to the timing of food ingredient purchases for MBG.
Hindayana stated that BGN stipulates that food purchases must be made less than two days before the meal is cooked. However, some SPPGs still purchase ingredients four days in advance.
Furthermore, Hindayana continued, there is also non-compliance by SPPGs with SOPs regarding the time frame between food preparation and delivery to beneficiaries in schools.
Hindayana stated that the ideal time span between cooking and delivery to beneficiaries is six hours, with the optimal time being four hours. However, in practice, some food preparation and delivery service providers take up to 12 hours.
Due to the various food poisoning cases that occurred among 6,456 beneficiaries as of September 30, 2025, the BGN has temporarily closed SPPGs that did not comply with the SOPs.
He continued that the government has prepared mitigation measures to prevent a recurrence of MBG poisoning cases, which include addressing sanitation issues.
The government now requires every SPPG to have a Certificate of Hygiene and Sanitation (SLHS). Furthermore, all SPPGs must sterilize equipment to ensure that all eating utensils used by beneficiaries are clean and hygienic.
