Serang (ANTARA) - The Serang Immigration Office has deported seven foreign nationals for violating immigration regulations related to their stay permits in Indonesia's Banten Province.

The individuals include three citizens of Myanmar, two from Vietnam, one from Laos, and one from the Philippines.

In a press statement on Wednesday, Head of the Serang Immigration Office Igak Artawan confirmed that the deportation process was carried out in stages beginning Monday evening, October 13.

“This action is in accordance with Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, and reflects the government’s commitment to upholding public order and national sovereignty,” he said.

Immigration official Maximilianus Kolbe Kristanto Lake explained that the seven individuals were apprehended during a surveillance operation in Anyer, Serang District, on September 30.

They were found participating in an e-commerce product sales training program using inappropriate stay permits.

“For such training activities, participants are required to hold a visitor visa with a C9 index,” Lake noted. “However, they were using other types of permits that do not authorize such activities in Indonesia.”

Following questioning, all seven were placed in the Serang Immigration detention center prior to their deportation to their respective countries.
