Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Pangan Nusa Expo 2025 concluded with potential transactions worth Rp161.2 billion (around US$9.7 million), the highest figure since the food exhibition began in 2006.

"This record achievement shows strong interest in Indonesia's local food products from both domestic and international markets," Trade Minister Budi Santoso said on Sunday.

The total figure includes potential business-matching deals between participants and buyers, agreements for overseas culinary expansion, and direct sales during the expo, held in Jakarta from October 15 to 18.

According to Santoso, business-matching transactions between food MSMEs and modern retailers contributed Rp37.6 billion. Potential memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreements for overseas culinary expansion accounted for Rp121.2 billion, with buyers from the Netherlands, Malaysia, Italy, Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Direct purchases by visitors during the four-day exhibition added Rp2.36 billion.

Santoso said that the expo successfully connected more than 70 food MSMEs with modern retail businesses and attracted strong public enthusiasm, with more than 38,000 visitors attending the event.

"The enthusiasm was remarkable — not only from culinary lovers but also from food entrepreneurs at home and abroad seeking Indonesia's best products," he said, adding that the participation of modern retailers helped boost overall transaction value.
