Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that development in the capital must not slow down despite efficiency regulations introduced by the central government.

“The ecosystem of Jakarta’s development must remain strong, even with efficiency measures in place,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Saturday.

He noted that Jakarta’s development cannot be carried out solely by the provincial government but must involve collaboration with various stakeholders.

“Partnership is the key to Jakarta’s development,” Pramono stated.

One of the initiatives, he added, is the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), an urban development strategy integrated with mass transportation systems.

According to Pramono, the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI) TOD area, located between the Pullman Hotel, Mandarin Hotel, and nearby buildings, will be connected underground and directly linked to the MRT station.

There are also plans for the Dukuh Atas TOD area, which will be developed without using funds from the Jakarta provincial budget (APBD). The Jakarta administration has entrusted the development of the area to MRT Jakarta.

“Dukuh Atas will be developed through a strategic partnership scheme. We will entrust the project to MRT Jakarta, with the provincial government providing support,” Pramono said.

Meanwhile, construction of the Bundaran HI TOD will use compensation funds from the Building Floor Coefficient (KLB) scheme, which allows developers to construct high-rise buildings more efficiently in the designated area.

Pramono revealed that in the past, obtaining permits for high-rise construction projects in Jakarta could take years, with some delayed for up to 12 years without clarity.

“Now, the process has been streamlined to less than 15 days, and all procedures are conducted transparently,” he said. “There will be no more hidden processes in the permit issuance.”

Furthermore, Pramono said he intends to continue several projects initiated by previous governors, including completing the monorail project and restarting the construction of Sumber Waras Hospital.

He expressed appreciation to law enforcement authorities, particularly the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), for supporting the hospital project.

“The monorail and Sumber Waras Hospital projects were once highly controversial. We want to complete both of them,” Pramono asserted.
