“We discussed economic policies, the government’s initiatives, and parliamentary dynamics,” Purbaya told reporters after arriving at the Finance Ministry office in Jakarta on Monday, accompanied by Misbakhun.
He described the meeting as warm and constructive, saying discussions focused on accelerating state budget realization in the fourth quarter to boost Indonesia’s economic growth to 5.5 percent and maintain post-pandemic recovery momentum.
Purbaya said both sides agreed on the importance of closer cooperation between the government and parliament to ensure sound, adaptive fiscal governance as Indonesia faces global economic headwinds.

The minister added the meeting aimed to strengthen communication and coordination to ensure policies remain synchronized, transparent, and centered on public needs.
Amid speculation of friction between the two institutions, Purbaya said the talks were also intended to dispel such perceptions.
“We discussed the steps to take and how to maintain a mutually supportive relationship between the government and parliament,” he said.
Commission XI Chair Misbakhun echoed the view, emphasizing that the DPR and the Finance Ministry maintain strong coordination. He said the discussion sought to align strategies for effective implementation of national economic policies.
Misbakhun also commended Purbaya’s commitment to ensuring fiscal policy supports President Prabowo Subianto’s agenda to improve public welfare.
“I will give my full support to Mr. Purbaya in assisting President Prabowo,” he said.
Commission XI oversees financial affairs, national development planning, monetary policy, the financial services sector, and the drafting of related legislation.
