Director General for Health Human Resources Yuli Farianti said this year’s theme, “Doctors Sharing with the Nation,” reflects doctors’ commitment to devote their knowledge, time, and energy to improving public health.
“All of this is made possible by the efforts and dedication of doctors across disciplines — from preventive and curative to palliative and community care,” Farianti said.
She noted that one of Indonesia’s main health challenges remains the unequal distribution of specialists, particularly in remote areas. The country needs around 32,000 new specialists each year but produces only about 2,700.
Amid advances in medical science and growing public demand for higher-quality care, doctors must continue to enhance their skills and adapt to rapid changes, she added.
To address these issues, the government has introduced several measures, including improving medical education, providing incentives for doctors serving in remote regions, and strengthening legal protections for healthcare workers.

The ministry also promotes mental well-being and a supportive work culture within healthcare institutions.
Farianti urged the public to express appreciation by following medical advice, maintaining their health and environment, and supporting national health initiatives.
She also thanked doctors for their dedication in both routine services and emergencies, including disasters and disease outbreaks.
“The Health Ministry hopes young doctors will become agents of change in transforming Indonesia’s health system,” she said, expressing confidence that they can embrace technology, uphold integrity, and serve the nation.
Farianti added that this year’s commemoration should inspire collaboration among healthcare professionals to build a more resilient health system.
“Thank you to all Indonesian doctors for your dedication. Let us move forward together, driven by the spirit of health transformation for an advanced Indonesia,” she said.
