“We must be aware of the threats arising from the use of technology in our economic system. This means that the development of technology must go hand in hand with the development of its security,” Budi said here on Wednesday.
He was speaking at the opening of the National Cybersecurity Connect 2025 event, where he said that mastering digital technology properly will help realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
He believes Indonesia has great potential to become a digital hub, supported by the rapid growth of domestic e-commerce.
According to him, data and information have become new sources of wealth, which must be managed wisely to prevent potential losses to the nation.
He also underlined President Prabowo Subianto’s policy on accelerating digital transformation as a highly strategic move, with digital governance set as one of the national priority programs.
From a cybersecurity standpoint, the BSSN Head highlighted the importance of the CIA Triad, which is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
He explained confidentiality ensures that data is accessed only by authorized parties, integrity maintains data accuracy and validity, and availability ensures reliable system access for legitimate users.
He added that disaster recovery, backup, and redundancy systems are crucial to restore data during incidents.
To strengthen national cyber resilience, he called for collaboration among the government, businesses, academia, media, and communities.
BSSN’s monitoring shows most cyber vulnerabilities stem from malware, denial-of-service attacks, unauthorized access, and AI-driven social engineering.
“Awareness, vigilance, and a culture of security need to be built. So, it is not only about the technology, but also about properly managing the people involved,” Budi stated.
