Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the initiative marks the government’s first step toward empowering local fashion brands to gain global recognition.
“The fashion sub-sector contributes significantly to exports and job creation within the creative economy,” Harsya said in a statement on Sunday.
“This program aims to strengthen the creative economy’s role in driving national growth from the local level,” he added.
The program has entered its bootcamp phase in Bogor, West Java, running from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. It follows a registration and selection process that drew 61 applicants since Oct. 17.
Ten selected entrepreneurs from Jakarta, West Java and Banten are attending the four-day training, which covers clothing, bag, and footwear businesses.
The bootcamp includes sessions on product design, prototype presentation, finance, branding, and digitalization.

Deputy Minister for Cultural Creativity and Design Yuke Sri Rahayu said the program aims to raise business capacity and product value.
“Most participants already manage small enterprises employing about five workers each. With 10 entrepreneurs joining, roughly 50 workers are contributing to national growth,” she said.
Rahayu added that the program supports the ministry’s broader strategy to develop Indonesia’s creative economy through the Creative Industry Development Roadmap 2029 and the Acceleration of Indonesian Creative Product Export (ASIK) program.
She encouraged more fashion entrepreneurs to join similar initiatives to strengthen Indonesia’s creative industry.
Participant Eti Yuniarti, a knitted product designer, said she hopes the training will help her business expand globally.
“We’re learning both theory and practice here. I hope the ministry continues programs like this to prepare us for wider market access,” Yuniarti said.
