Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi stated that people-to-people relations between Indonesia and Poland have continued to strengthen overall bilateral ties.

Speaking at a diplomatic reception here on Thursday, held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations and Poland’s Independence Day, the minister underlined that the true strength of bilateral engagement lies in growing interactions among citizens.

Fauzi said that the increasing movement of tourists, students, and cultural delegations from both countries has become an important foundation for the partnership.

She added that trade relations have also expanded, with bilateral trade now exceeding US$1 billion, supported by cooperation in the energy, health, and automotive sectors.

According to the minister, Indonesia and Poland have strong potential to advance their cooperation into a more solid and comprehensive partnership in the coming years.

This opportunity, she said, derives not only from the wide range of sectors open for further development but also from the strategic roles both countries play in their respective regions.

“On the global stage, Poland has remained a reliable partner, working with us to promote stability and solidarity,” she said.

Fauzi expressed hope that bilateral ties will continue to generate new initiatives, create wider opportunities, and deepen cooperation for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.

Meanwhile, Polish Ambassador to Indonesia Barbara Szymanowska said she hoped bilateral relations would continue to grow across various sectors, including agriculture, defense, the digital economy, and education.

She also encouraged Indonesian students to study in Poland, which she described as an ideal destination for gaining knowledge. She reaffirmed commitment to advancing cooperation in the years ahead.
