Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the development of high-standard health facilities domestically is key to reducing the public's dependence on medical services abroad.

At the inauguration of the Emirates Indonesia Cardiology Hospital in Central Java, monitored online on Wednesday, Prabowo said that the new hospital has the most advanced equipment in Indonesia.

He said the hospital's construction was an effort to prevent people from seeking treatment abroad, especially for heart and cardiovascular diseases.

"I think this will give new hope to heart disease patients. They won't have to go abroad for treatment," said Prabowo.

The hospital, a grant from the United Arab Emirates government, is equipped with the latest advanced technology and equipment. It is one of four hospitals in Indonesia with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

The government is committed to providing the best health services that are not inferior to those of developed countries, the president said.

"We have excellent and top-notch facilities, and we will strive to provide the best health care possible," he said.

On the same occasion, Prabowo also emphasized that the government had instructed the construction of 66 new hospitals with the same standards as the Emirates Indonesia Cardiology Hospital.

In addition, Prabowo asked Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to ensure that each district/city has a hospital with national-level services and facilities.

"In the next four years, we will strive to achieve that. We will work towards it, and I will certainly allocate a significant amount of funding for health services," he added.
