He said the investigation continues alongside efforts to involve communities in early prevention.
According to him, the assessment was launched after officers identified a new pattern pointing to attempts to approach children through online games. He noted that this emerging trend requires attention from the community.
Listyo explained that the findings began with observations of children’s activities within hobby-based online communities. Those spaces provide room for interaction, which the police are now studying due to the potential exposure to harmful ideologies.
He added that some game features and interactions could open pathways for radical influence.
Listyo also emphasized that such risks must be anticipated to prevent children from being drawn into dangerous doctrines that could threaten public safety.
"If we allow this to continue, it will certainly have an impact on disrupting public safety and the lives of others," he remarked.
For that reason, he underscored the importance of supervising children when using information technology. While technological progress brings convenience, he said guidance and monitoring remain essential to prevent new vulnerabilities.
He stressed that regulating digital use is not intended to restrict expression but to strengthen public education so children and communities can be protected from exposure to harmful ideas or activities.
On this occasion, he also called on parents, educators, and local leaders to actively observe children’s online interactions and report suspicious activities to authorities.
"There are things we must regulate in the use of information technology, which is certainly not intended as suppression but to provide better education so that the public and our children are protected from potential dangers," he explained.
