"The airdrop operation uses the Air Force's Hercules transport aircraft. Meanwhile, the helibox drop system uses CN 295 and Casa 212 aircraft," he explained on Monday.
This method is taken since land access to Sibolga remains cut off due to recent landslides, Ardianzah added.
The logistics sent by the TNI include ready-to-eat food, medicine, emergency tents, and clothing.
While delivering the logistics, TNI personnel will continue evacuating victims in the Sibolga flood area.
Ardianzah confirmed that logistics deliveries and troop deployment will continue in two other flood-affected areas: Aceh and West Sumatra.
"Logistics delivery is still ongoing. All land, sea, and air routes are being optimized to ensure aid reaches the community quickly," he ensured.
In addition, President Prabowo Subianto informed that a large ship has successfully docked off the coast of Sibolga to deliver aid to evacuees, as land routes to the area were cut off due to flash floods and landslides.
After visiting evacuees in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on Monday, President Prabowo also confirmed that Air Force Hercules transport aircraft are returning daily to transport aid and logistics needed by evacuees from aid storage points to disaster-affected areas in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.
"The large ship can now dock in Sibolga. We will continue to deploy Hercules; perhaps several more can land every day," he noted.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the president called for swift, precise, and comprehensive handling of the flood disaster in Sumatra.
Furthermore, the government has formulated emergency response priorities, including accelerating fuel distribution, restoring the electricity network, and opening access to isolated villages.
