“We conveyed our deepest condolences to His Majesty and the Indonesian people for this painful flood tragedy,” Sheikh Mohammed said Thursday at the Presidential Palace Complex.
Speaking after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Sheikh Mohammed said the League is prepared to assist Indonesia in addressing the humanitarian and economic fallout from the disaster.
“On behalf of the Muslim World League (Rabithah Al-Alam Al-Islami), we express our readiness to support the Republic of Indonesia in its efforts to ease the suffering caused by this flood,” he said.
He added that the meeting also covered several issues of mutual concern, including challenges faced by Muslim communities worldwide.

The secretary general underscored the importance of Muslims upholding Islamic values that promote peace, coexistence and social harmony.
He also highlighted Indonesia’s long-standing record of managing religious and ethnic diversity, calling it a model for other nations.
“We consider this model a source of pride within the Islamic world, and an inspiration globally — especially for countries struggling to achieve true coexistence,” he said.
He said Indonesia’s experience reflects the values embraced by its citizens in responding to diversity and demonstrates a strong civilizational awareness rooted in local tradition.
“Through the awareness of its people and the wisdom of its leadership, Indonesia has shown the values we must uphold in addressing diversity,” he said.
He added that these values show Indonesians embody a “civilizational consciousness” drawn from their own cultural foundations.
President Prabowo was accompanied in the meeting by Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak and People’s Consultative Assembly Chairman Ahmad Muzani.
