Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto flew to Aceh on Sunday for his second inspection of areas affected by severe floods, aiming to accelerate emergency response and restoration efforts.

Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta at 7:55 a.m. and landed at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport in Aceh Besar. He is scheduled to visit heavily affected zones, assess damage, and receive updated reports from local authorities and relevant agencies.

The visit underscores the government’s push to fast-track emergency operations, including aid distribution, evacuation support, and the reopening of blocked road access. The government has designated the response in Aceh as a national priority by mobilizing resources to speed up community recovery.

On Friday, Prabowo described the recent series of disasters across several regions as “a shared hardship and challenge for the nation,” emphasizing Indonesia’s resilience in confronting consecutive crises.

“We must show the public that the government responds swiftly and solves problems. We have proven that whenever disaster strikes anywhere, state instruments are deployed immediately,” he said.

Prabowo’s presence on the ground is expected to strengthen field coordination and ensure relief measures remain effective, fast, and well synchronized. The government continues to prioritize public safety and the restoration of essential infrastructure in the affected districts.

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Government Communications Agency Head Angga Raka Prabowo accompanied the president on his trip to Aceh.
