He made the statement while inspecting flood damage in Cot Ara Village, Kuta Blang Sub-district, Bireuen District, Aceh, on Sunday.
According to the ministry's statement, Hasan held dialogues during the visit with residents and farmers affected by flooding that struck the area on November 26.
Residents reported that 530 hectares of farmland in Cot Ara Village were totally damaged and could no longer be cultivated.
In addition, rice fields were covered by thick mud, while agricultural infrastructure, including irrigation systems, was swept away by the floods.
“This used to be all rice fields, but now it is totally destroyed, with floodwaters reaching two meters,” said Amirullah, a local farmer.
Hasan reaffirmed that the government would be present to assist farmers affected by the disaster.
The commitment follows instructions from President Prabowo Subianto, who emphasized the repair of post-disaster agricultural infrastructure as a government priority.
Earlier, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said the ministry had moved to restore farmland hit by floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
He noted that the government had prepared emergency response measures and rehabilitation programs so farmers could promptly resume production.
“They should receive proper assistance, have their land cultivated again, plant and harvest crops, and continue their livelihoods,” he said.
He added that, following President Prabowo’s directives, various forms of aid had been mobilized to restore agriculture in disaster-affected areas.
“Seeds, agricultural machinery, and smallholder business credit loans are included, covering crops such as corn as well as livestock commodities,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Ministry officials have been deployed to ensure that assistance and rehabilitation programs run optimally on the ground.
