“We observed that services inside the airport are very good. We also spoke with many passengers, who said they were satisfied and gave very positive feedback. Facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms, and nursing rooms are available, clean, and well maintained,” Widiyanti said in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
During her visit earlier in the day, Widiyanti reviewed the latest data at the Integrated Data Main Post for the Christmas and New Year holiday period to directly assess the airport’s operational readiness.
The data included passenger traffic movements, weather forecasts, staffing requirements, and potential issues that need to be anticipated in relation to passenger and flight services at both domestic and international terminals.
The visit continued with an inspection of Terminal 1C, which has recently been revamped. At the terminal, Widiyanti observed passenger services firsthand, ranging from check-in and baggage handling to commercial areas and waiting lounges.
Previously, InJourney Airports revitalized Terminal 1C as part of efforts to improve service quality and terminal capacity to support smooth flight operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Terminal 1C now combines modern design with distinctive traditional Indonesian elements, creating a visual character that reflects national identity. The interior design features a blend of contemporary spatial planning and architectural elements typical of Terminal 1, such as terracotta bricks and local ornaments, supported by the application of the latest technology across various passenger service facilities.
Following the visit, Widiyanti said tourist movement during the holiday period is estimated to reach 1.45 million international visitors and around 128 million domestic tourist trips. Of the total movement, air transportation is projected to carry approximately 3.4 million passengers.
She added that Bali remains the top tourist destination, followed by several other regions including Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar. This aligns with a Ministry of Transportation survey showing that, in addition to Bali, major tourist destinations include Central Java, East Java, West Java, and Yogyakarta.
Widiyanti also encouraged the public to take advantage of various government programs aimed at boosting travel during the holiday season. One of these is a policy offering a 13–14 percent discount on domestic economy-class airfares for flights scheduled between December 22, 2025, and January 10, 2026, with ticket purchases available from October 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
InJourney Airports President Director Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi said the completion and operation of Terminal 1C were deliberately designed to support smooth services during this year’s Christmas and New Year holiday period.
“Terminal 1C is one of the tangible proofs of our readiness to welcome both international and domestic travelers so they can enjoy a more comfortable journey. The Minister also reviewed in great detail how services are delivered, what passengers experience, and the positive responses shown by airport users,” Rizal said.
