BNPT Head Eddy Hartono in Jakarta on Tuesday asserted that the aid reflects his agency's commitment to showing that the government stands with the victims.
He noted that for the mechanism, the assistance was provided through the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) or by collaborating with companies, including state-owned enterprises, through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
Speaking at the Year-End Press Statement and Developments of Terrorism Trends in Indonesia 2025 event, he explained that the assistance was provided because several victims sustained permanent injuries and require funding for their ongoing medical treatment.
Apart from the aid, Hartono affirmed that BNPT has fulfilled the rights of victims by identifying those affected by past terrorist acts across 12 provinces and issuing 80 Terrorism Victim Status certificates, in accordance with Constitutional Court Decision Number 103.
Under the decision, the deadline for victims of past terrorism to apply for compensation is extended from 5 to 10 years.
"We have been given the opportunity to re-identify victims who have not yet received rehabilitation support. We are continuously collecting the data," he remarked.
BNPT reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the protection and recovery of terrorism survivors. This is centered on five key pillars, including meeting the targets for victim identification before the 2028 deadline set by the Constitutional Court.
The other pillars are the digitalization of services and victim data collection systems; strengthening medical, psychological, and psychosocial service networks; improving the quality of psychological and psychosocial support; and collaborating with stakeholders to establish national standards for terrorism victim recovery services.
