Mu’ti said the program includes the construction of new school units as well as renovations to existing schools, such as the addition and improvement of toilets, libraries, laboratories, and other physical facilities, in line with directives from President Prabowo Subianto.
“In accordance with the president’s directive and the priority quick-win programs of the Red and White Cabinet, we are building new school units and renovating schools with a total budget of Rp16.9 trillion, or around US$1 billion,” Mu’ti said in Tangerang on Wednesday.
He added that the revitalization program covers 16,171 education units nationwide, with upgrades to sanitation facilities, libraries, laboratories, and other supporting infrastructure.
In the Greater Tangerang area, which comprises Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, and Tangerang District, a total of 96 schools benefited from the program, he said.
These included early childhood education units, 23 elementary schools, 13 junior high schools, 30 senior high schools, 21 vocational high schools, two special schools (SLB), and four community learning activity centers (PKBM), with total assistance amounting to Rp105 billion, or around US$6.2 million.

These comprised 15 early childhood education units, 107 elementary schools, 75 junior high schools, 52 senior high schools, 60 vocational high schools, eight special schools, one learning activity studio (SKB), and five community learning activity centers.
