In addition to the medical fitness of the crew, the Ministry of Transportation said oversight data and airworthiness inspection results showed that the ATR 42-500 aircraft was in an airworthy condition prior to the flight.
The ATR 42-500 aircraft, operated by Indonesia Air Transport (IAT) was earlier reported to have lost contact in the Bulusaraung mountainous area along the Maros-Pangkep regency border in South Sulawesi while approaching Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport on Saturday (January 17).
The aircraft was carrying 10 people: seven crew members and three passengers.
The three passengers were employees of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). They were identified as Ferry Irawan, a Junior Administrator serving as a Vessel Monitoring Analyst; Deden Mulyana, also a Junior Administrator serving as a State Asset Manager; and Yoga Naufal, who served as an aerial photo operator.
The aircraft crew consisted of seven persons on board (POB), led by Captain Andi Dahananto as the pilot.
