After 20 days of intensive mentoring at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory in Jakarta, the program is scheduled to officially close on Friday (Jan. 30), with President Prabowo Subianto expected to attend.
Speaking to the press while reviewing preparations on Thursday, Minister Yusuf underscored the importance of sustained readiness, highlighting the need for proficiency in Arabic and peak physical fitness.
“We hope that Hajj officers will continue learning even after this mentoring program ends. It is crucial to make the most of the remaining two to three months before departure by maintaining physical fitness,” he affirmed.
Highlighting the challenging weather conditions in Saudi Arabia, Yusuf urged officers to complement their technical knowledge with psychological readiness, stressing that mentality is key to delivering successful services.
“I was informed that the mentoring achieved a 90 percent success rate. However, I will only receive official written reports detailing the participants’ progress tomorrow,” he said.
He emphasized that the government has closely monitored each participant's performance to ensure the contingent is composed of the best talent.
Regarding Friday’s closing ceremony, the minister assured that the event will proceed regardless of the weather, despite recent heavy rainfall in the capital, and expressed hope that President Prabowo’s attendance would provide a morale boost for the officers.
