Hasan visited the Somba Opu Tombolo 02 kitchen, which prepares and distributes meals for beneficiaries, to review operations and confirm that nutrition services remain uninterrupted during Ramadan through menu and distribution adjustments.
“For general schools with Muslim students, distribution of dry food is carried out during the day,” Hasan said in a statement released in Jakarta on Friday, outlining changes made to accommodate fasting schedules.
“For students who are not fasting, as well as for pregnant women and toddlers, food distribution continues as usual,” he added, stressing the program’s flexibility to meet different nutritional needs.
During the inspection, Hasan checked that processes ranging from raw material selection to cooking and delivery were conducted hygienically, safely, and in line with established service and food safety standards.

The Somba Opu Tombolo 02 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit currently serves 2,817 beneficiaries, including students and education personnel from nine schools, supported by dozens of trained staff members.
Beyond reviewing daily operations, Hasan also examined the unit’s readiness to prepare and distribute dry food packages for the Free Nutritious Meal program throughout the Ramadan period.
He said free meal distribution for Islamic boarding schools is scheduled for the afternoon, ahead of the breaking of the fast, to align with students’ religious activities during Ramadan.
Faisal, head of the Somba Opu Tombolo 02 unit, said his team had begun adjusting menus well in advance as part of preparations for the fasting month.
“Normally we distribute freshly cooked meals, but during Ramadan we are preparing dry menus such as bread, nuts and packaged milk,” Faisal said, adding that the meals are designed to maintain balanced nutrition.
