Prabowo stressed the importance of echoing Indonesia Incorporated, which he described as a vision of the nation sustained by synergy between the government, the business community, and other stakeholders to boost competitiveness and economic growth.
He highlighted the notion in the presence of Prajogo Pangestu of Barito Pacific Group, Anthony Salim of Salim Group, Franky Widjaja of Sinar Mas Group, Boy Thohir of Adaro Energy, and Sugianto Kusuma of Agung Sedayu Group, according to a statement cited here on Wednesday.
During the gathering held at the request of the businessmen, the president explored opportunities to develop strategic sectors that could deliver direct, tangible benefits to the wider public.
“Industrial development should bring direct benefits to the people, stimulate job creation, and help enhance national independence,” Prabowo affirmed.
The head of state also used the high-profile meeting to exchange views on evident economic challenges while urging deeper collaboration between his administration and the private sector for the greater good.
He invited the major businessmen to partner in opening employment opportunities, strengthening real sectors, and supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises to grow as the backbone of the national economy.
Prabowo’s call was positively received, with the five business magnates voicing their shared commitment to fully support the government’s poverty alleviation, nutritional and educational improvement, and people-oriented industrial development objectives.
The president also won the tycoons' support for government initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare quality and accessibility, providing subsidized homes, developing cooperatives, supporting coastal communities, and achieving self-sufficiency in food and energy.
