Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka ensured that the departure process of prospective hajj pilgrims from Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo, East Java, proceeded smoothly.

In a statement received here on Thursday, VP Gibran confirmed that the Makkah Route Fast Track service at Juanda Airport has been operating well and is able to expedite the immigration document inspection process.

“This certainly makes the departure process much easier,” Gibran said.

The Vice President also praised the Saudi Arabian Government for providing the Makkah Route service at several airports in Indonesia, which has significantly facilitated the departure process of prospective hajj pilgrims.

During the visit, the Vice President also greeted and held a dialogue with 380 prospective hajj pilgrims from Group 32 SUB from Lamongan and Tulungagung Districts, who were set to depart for Saudi Arabia.

He also conveyed his wishes for a smooth pilgrimage to the prospective hajj pilgrims, while reminding them to maintain their health to ensure the smooth conduct of their worship until they return to the homeland.

“To all of you, please take care of your health, and may the entire series of worship activities proceed smoothly,” VP Gibran said.

Meanwhile, Makkah Route Public Relations Supervisor Muhammad Al Syarif stated that the service has been operating for three years at Juanda Airport, and nationally the Makkah Route is available in Jakarta, Solo (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), and Makassar (South Sulawesi).

He added that the main objective of the Makkah Route service is to provide convenience for prospective hajj pilgrims in completing all immigration processes while still in the homeland.

This, he continued, makes it easier for pilgrims upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, as they no longer need to queue at the airport to process immigration documents and can proceed directly to their hotels.
