The Director of General Crimes, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, said the police also seized foreign currency worth 53.82 million Vietnamese dong and US$10,210 during the crackdown.
"These are various currencies. We will provide further details later, but that is what's certain," he remarked in a press conference on Saturday.
In the next step, the police will trace the flow of funds in this case and investigate the servers or internet protocol (IP) addresses of the online gambling site's communication network.
As a result of the crackdown, 321 foreign nationals have been arrested, 275 of whom have been named suspects.
Triputra explained that the foreign nationals had been operating an online gambling business for approximately two months.
However, based on the investigation, the building in the Hayam Wuruk district office where the case was uncovered was purely intended for an online gambling operation.
"They reside near this tower," he added.
He further informed that most of the foreign nationals arrested were aware they were being brought to Indonesia to work for an online gambling company.
However, Triputra stated that they were the perpetrators, not the masterminds.
His office is committed to developing this case until it identifies the top officials of the gambling business and the sponsors who brought them to Indonesia.
"We will also coordinate with relevant stakeholders, in this case, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), and the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections. This will allow for further development," he remarked.
Furthermore, the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia, along with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, plans to consolidate efforts by forming a task force to address transnational crime, including online gambling, in the country.
