The dismissal was announced by State Secretary Minister and Presidential Spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi in a press conference at the Presidential Palace Complex.
"On this day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Mr. President decided to carry out changes in the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency," Hadi stated.
Dadan Hindayana will be replaced by his deputy in BGN, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, he added.
Meanwhile, two other deputy heads in BGN, Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, were also dismissed, with their positions to be replaced by Agustina Arumsari and Maj. Gen. Trenggono, respectively.
He explained that the changes in BGN leadership were conducted following President Prabowo's evaluations of the agency's performance over the past 18 months.
Hadi also conveyed the president's gratitude for Hindayana, Pusung, and Sonjaya in "consolidating the foundation and developing BGN" throughout their tenure.
Before his dismissal on the evening, Hindayana's agenda on Tuesday morning includes accompanying President Prabowo's visit to an MBG kitchen, officially known as a nutrition fulfillment service unit (SPPG), in Palmerah, West Jakarta.
Hindayana, an entomologist from IPB University, was appointed by President Joko Widodo as the inaugural head of the National Nutrition Agency on August 19, 2024. The agency was established during the presidential transition period ahead of Prabowo Subianto’s inauguration in October 2024.
BGN was created to oversee the implementation of the MBG program, one of Prabowo’s flagship campaign promises.
Launched on Jan. 6, 2025, the program had reached approximately 62 million beneficiaries nationwide as of May 2026, including schoolchildren, infants, and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
