Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police said Gayus`s old friend, AG, had helped him make the forged passport he used to travel abroad while he was supposed to be in a detention cell.

"Gayus got the passport through a middleman known by his initials as AG who was his high school friend," Jakarta Police chief spokesman Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said here on Wednesday.

AG was the one who introduced Gayus to suspected member of a passport syndicate known by his initial as A who had produced the forged passport used by Gayus, the former tax official who has shocked the public for being in possession of billions of rupiahs suspected to have been received as bribes from corporate taxpayers.

"AG has now been named a suspect and detained," Boy said.

He said Gayus, A and AG had met at a place in Jakarta but not at the police Mobile Brigade detention facility where Gayus had stayed before.

"Right now AG is still being interrogated as a witness. He came to the police at his own initiative," he said.

AG and A could face criminal charges based on Article 263 and 266 of the Criminal Code.

Gayus was in Macau from September 22 through 24, 2010, and on September 30 to October 2, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore using a forged passport carrying fake name Sony Laksono and his picture wearing a wig to disguise.

The passport was initially for five year old child Margaretha. Gayus had confessed that he got the passport from a middleman.
