The president`s entourage includes First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, several cabinet ministers and presidential spokesman Julian A Pasha.
In Surabaya, Yudhoyono will officially open the 14th National Congress of Ansor, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)`s youth wing, on Thursday.
On Friday, the head of state will meet a number of farmers at Lebo village, Sidoarjo District.
The dialog with sugarcane farmers will focus on the impacts of climate change and weather anomaly on sugarcane plants.
Following the meeting with the farmers, the president and his entourage will return to Jakarta on Friday afternoon.
