"We appeal to the government to provide a special funding facility for strategic defense industry. If possible defense industry is provided with multi-year contract facilities," Yoyoh Yusron of the House of Representatives (DPR)`s Defense Commission said here on Sunday.
The politician who came from the Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS) said that the funding could be taken from a consortium of domestic and state-owned banks.
"Now, domestic and state-owned banking consortium can provide a low-interest rate facility. This could be construed as a concrete support," he said.
He said that the capability of native human resources regarding defense and security strategic industry was quite good and could be counted for if the government had a strong political will.
For this purpose, all processes that are related to licensing should be sped up, after all if it has already been regulated through a law on public services.
"We reminded the government that it should have commitment to realizing its funding policies for the production of the country`s weaponry system. It should also apply the good governance principles," he said.
