Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Two Indonesian cargo crew members who are recently being under captivation of Somali`s pirate in the Arab sea contacted their family at home and said they are in good condition and had been evacuated to Oman.

The two Indonesian ship crew members, along with 21 others had been held hostage on board a South Korean "Samhong Jewelry" cargo ship.

One of the Indonesian hostages said he has contacted his family in Indonesia Desst Arutinang by phone on board a ship heading for Oman.

To Dessy, Sony said that he and Ufuk Meganthoro (his co-worker) of the "Samho Jewelry" cargo ship are in a good condition after being held hostage by Somalian pirates while sailing in the Arab Sea while heading for Sri Lanka.

The cargo ship carrying 11.500 tons of chemicals was sailing from India to Sri Lanka but had to make a stop at the United Arab Emirates and passed the Arab Sea.

The ship had been hijacked by armed Somalian pirates and held its crew members consisting of eight Koreans, 11 Myanmarese and two Indonesians Sony and Ufuk hostage.

According to the chairman of the Indonesian Seamen`s Association (KPI) Hanafi Rustandi, the fate of the crew members held hostage by the Somalian pirates is the responsibility of the South Korean government. (*)
