Governor Adnan Saleh said that besides observing the success of development, the vice president would perform Friday prayer with thousands of worshipers at Suhada Grand Mosque in provincial city of Mamuju.
According to Adnan, Vice President Boediono usually visited the provinces and regions on Friday to Saturday because he wanted to perform Friday prayer at every mosque he passed by.
"The vice president will pray for the people of Mamuju in West Sulawesi and the nation in order to be exempted from political turmoil like in Egypt and Tunisia," the governor said.
Meanwhile, provincial administration spokesman Azis Jabba said earlier that the vice president would visit Mamuju to observe the success of development in the province.
"The vice president will visit West Sulawesi in the third week of February in a bid to obtain first hand information about the success of development," Azis Jabba said recently.
According to Azis, West Sulawesi was the province which was able to achieve the highest economic growth by 15.1 percent to speed up its regional development.
He said that during the visit to West Sulawesi later in February this year, the vice president would witness the success of local government in developing its infrastructure such as roads, bridges, seaports, and an airport.
"The vice president will also witness a number of government infrastructure development stage such as governor`s office building, provincial legislative assembly office building and several other office buildings in the province," he said.
Azis added that Boediono would also review people`s business credit (KUR) aid program through banking party, and the implementation of People`s Empowerment National Program (PNPM) in West Sulawesi province.
Therefore he hoped the local government and the people would give a positive response to the vice president`s visit to the province.
